- Stride Right Farms specializes in flat shod Kentucky Mountain Horses and Rocky Mountain Horses. Stride Right Farms is able to provide the skills to ready the horse and rider for either winning in the show ring or enjoying mountain trails. A good show horse should also be a good trail horse. All of our trail training is done on actual mountain trails. The trail training is done in the 800 acre park adjoining Stride Right Farms, which has a variety of terrain, water crossings and bridges. Many times the horses are hauled to the high country to be subjected to even more varied conditions.

- We are now offering month by month lease-lesson program. This program is designed to (1) give you the oppurtunity to see if a gaited horse is right for you, (2) to transition you from riding a non gaited horse, (3) show you how to correct a variaty of different behaviors you may encounter when you ride a gaited horse, (4) teach you what to look for when you start looking for a gaited horse to purchase.

- Here is how the program works. After we have assessed your riding and general horse skills we will select a horse that is appropriate for you to get started with. As your skills develope you will be given different horses to ride so that you are always learning different situations to correct. The program includes up to 2 formal lessons per week. In addition you also have nearly unlimited use of your lesson horses and the facilities to practice your skills. The facilities include 70'x120' indoor arena, wash racks, indoor round pen and if your skills allow, miles of state park trails to ride.
