Our love and passion for the “mountain horses” began with the search for a trail horse with a smooth ride coupled with being level headed. The pursuit began with looking at gaited horses in general and moving away from the known Arabian and Quarter horse background. The search process led to the Rocky Mountain horse. At that time there were only a handful of Rocky Mountain horses on the west coast. Once introduced to the mountain horse breed, there was no question that these horses ‘had it all’.

Since the farm’s inception it has strived to become the best at breeding and providing magnificent horses. To meet this goal the breeding program has been constantly updated to produce the best the breed has to offer. Training techniques used at Stride Right Farms come from having worked with some of the top trainers across the country in the mountain horse breed.

Stride Right Farms is committed to the mountain horse -- Rocky Mountain, Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse, Mountain Pleasure, and American Gaited Mountain Horse.  We are constantly promoting these versatile horses through breed shows, trail rides, and demonstrations. Previously Stride Right Farms sponsored the award winning ‘mountain horse’ drill team. This drill team preformed through out the northwest and came home with many first place awards.

We are founding members of the United Mountain Horses, Inc., members of Back Country Horsemen, and are licensed examiners for both the Rocky Mountain and Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse Associations.

Stride Right Farms, in rural Issaquah, WA is conveniently located 15 miles east of Seattle, WA and just 5 miles south of Interstate 90. The farm adjoins the Squak Mountain State Park which has miles of mountain trails. The trail obstacles found within the park aid to the training process.
